There are so many wonderful locations in the city for bridal shoots, ceremonies and of course to party. But there is more to The Netherlands than it’s capital! How about Utrecht, Leiden, Delft, or my hometown Nijmegen, the oldest city in the country, dating from Roman times. Wherever you are planning your Dutch wedding, I looking forward to capture it.

a journalistic approach

As a trained journalist, my approach to wedding photography is much the same as writing an article for a newspaper. I document the events I encounter: your wedding, your hapiness, your love. I see it as my goal to capture your special day in the most honest way possible, with as little posing and as much real emotions as possible. Having said that, as a photographer I’m always on the look out for beautiful light, and when I see it, I might just ask you to strike a pose. Just that once, or maybe twice (please don’t tell anyone!).

My first awards! This shot of Ellen and Ruben on their wedding day was made in an old library in the eastern part of The Netherlands. Since we knew it was going to rain during the bridal shoot, we had to came up with an alternative to the park we originally chose. I remembered seeing this library in pictures online and contacted the owner. Luckily, he was happy to cooperate. The couple was happily suprised with how this shot turned out, and so were the juries of Wedisson Awards, Badass Photographers & One Eyeland!
